Diarrhea has become a leading health problem in Indonesia, due to it's high infant morbidity and mortality rate. According to National Basic Health Study in 2007, diarrhea is the fourth leading cause of mortality for all age groups (13.2%) and, the leading cause in newborn infants (31.4%), and under 5 year olds (25.5%) in Indonesia. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between breastfeeding and formula feeding with the incidence of diarrhea in 0-12 month old infants at Bhineka Bakti Husada Hospital in 2014. A cross sectional study with using consecutive sampling to 88 infant, 0-12 month old was conducted on. From the Chisquare test performed on the data showed that there was a significant relationship between breastfeeding and formula feeding with the incidence of diarrhea with a pvalue of p=0.000. Infants who were used formula were more likely to get diarrhea than those who were breast fed.
