PENGARUH PEMBERIAN ZINK TERHADAP MOTILITAS SPERMATOZOA PADA MENCIT JANTAN (Mus musculus) DENGAN PEMAPARAN SUHU PANAS

Increased testicular temperature from normal temperatures can trigger abnormal effects on sperm, one of which can be seen from impaired sperm motility. Zinc compounds are known to improve the quality of spermatozoa because they can function as antioxidants and can stimulate the hormone testosterone...

Zinc compounds are known to improve the quality of spermatozoa because they can function as antioxidants and can stimulate the hormone testosterone which improves the normal spermatogenesis process. This study aimed to determine the effect of zinc administration on motility of spermatozoa in male mice (Mus musculus) with hot temperature exposure. The sample of 36 male mice will be divided into 2 groups, namely, the control group (K1) was not given zinc by exposure to a heat temperature of 40°C for 45 minutes per day and the experimental group (K2) was given 30 mg zinc with exposure to 40°C hot temperature for 45 minutes per day. After 32 days of treatment the sperm motility of mice was examined. Chi-square test results obtained p-value of 0.001 which means that there is an effect of zinc administration on the motility of spermatozoa in male mice (Mus musculus) with hot temperature exposure. It can be concluded that administration of zinc as much as 30 mg can influence the improvement of sperm motility of male mice (Mus musculus) with hot temperature exposure.
