This study aims to determine the effect of Moringa oleifera leaf extract and infusion as exogenous antioxidants on activity of the liver enzyme catalase in obese mice induced by 2-Nitropropane. This research method is an experiment using obese mice given leaf extract (4 mg/day) and infusion (40 mg/day) Moringa oleifera for 20 days, then induced 2Nitropropane (0.02 mL/day). The results showed a decrease in liver enzyme catalase activity in obese mice after being induced by 2-Nitropropane (1,404±0.261 U/mL) with a control group (3,275±0.630 U/mL). Based on the One Way ANOVA test results obtained a P value of 0.001 (P<0.05) there are differences activity of the liver catalase enzyme which was given leaf extract (0.960±0.555 U/mL) and leaf infusion (1,229±0.592 U/mL) with groups control (3,275±0.630 U/ml). In this study it can be concluded that there is an effect of Moringa leaf extract and infusion administration on the activity of liver enzyme catalase in obesity mice induced by 2-Nitropropane. | ||
