Summary

Preparedness is an activity that describes a person's response to a disaster. As one of the largest components of health professionals, nurses have an important role in disaster management. The purpose of this study was to find out what factors affect the preparedness of nurses in dealing with disasters, especially at dr. Mintohardjo naval hospital. The research method is quantitative analytic with a cross-sectional design. The research subjects are nurses at dr. Mintohardjo naval hospital Jakarta, totaling 184 nurses using the accidental sampling method. The statistical test used is Chi-Square. The results of the analysis showed that there was a significant relationship between gender (p-value = 0.002) and family support (p-value = 0.000) with nurse preparedness in dealing with disasters. Therefore, nurses are advised to take part in disaster-related training and become direct volunteers in disasters in order to improve their skills and knowledge.
