Summary

This research discusses the protection of Indonesian law against the problems often experienced by Indonesian Migrant Workers working in Malaysia. One of them is the case of violence committed by employers against Indonesian Migrant Workers in the domestic sector. Violence that is often experienced by Indonesian Migrant Workers in the domestic sector is associated with human rights violations, so it is described about the factors behind the occurrence of such violence using the concept of human security and human rights. The purpose of the study is to find out how the Indonesian government seeks legal protection of migrant workers in the domestic sector / PLRT in Malaysia in 2018-2020. The method used in this study is qualitative descriptive which aims to describe the phenomenon of Indonesian Migrant Workers in Malaysia that occurs so that it is used as a form of research. Because this research is based on law, the approach used in legislation and cases. The efforts made by the Indonesian state are illustrated through the concept of advocacy strategy, as a model in carrying out legal protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers in the PLRT sector located in Malaysia. So the results obtained in this study are some efforts made by the Indonesian government in protecting Indonesian Migrant Workers using several strategies. In addition, it will also be described about the challenges faced by the Indonesian state in carrying out legal protection against PLRT working in Malaysia.
