Description
Summary:Indonesia is a country with an astronomical position on the equator with a cross position between two continents and two oceans, thus making Indonesia have a fairly high potential and frequency of natural disasters, such as volcanoes, tsunamis and earthquakes. The earthquake disaster is also one of the most detrimental geological disasters for the people. Mitigation (pra disaster) has the aim of reducing the risks posed by preventive disasters, namely a capability needed to prevent and avoid disasters, as well as so that the impacts derived from these disasters are reduced, activities that can be carried out in the form of mitigation, prevention, and preparedness which include early warning and planning. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between knowledge and attitudes with preparedness in the earthquake disaster mitigation phase in students of the upn Veteran Jakarta faculty of health sciences. In this study, it is a quantitative research with a cross-sectional design method. The sampling technique used was stratified sampling with 328 respondents. Data collection is carried out by disseminating questionnaires. The results showed that as many (61.3%) students had good knowledge, a good attitude in facing becana as much as (52.7%) and preparedness in the mitigation phase that was ready to be prepared as much as (50.9%). The results of the bivariate analysis showed a significant relationship between knowledge and attitudes with preparedness in the disaster mitigation phase with P value = 0.000 (P < 0.05). So the conclusion of this study is that the higher a person's knowledge and attitude, the higher a person's preparedness, especially in disaster mitigation. The author hopes that the campus will begin to carry out socialization and disaster simulations evenly, so that students will always be ready to be prepared when they will be hit by disasters.
