Summary: | Background: The increase in overweight in adolescents also affects physical fitness, this is also related to health which is often defined in the context of cardiorespiratory endurance, muscle explosive power, and body flexibility. Objective: To determine the relationship between body mass index and physical fitness (VO2Max) in high school adolescents. Methods: The design of this study used a cross-sectional study method with a direct approach. The tools used to collect data are Body Mass Index to determine the value of nutritional status and Bleep test to determine the value of physical fitness (VO2Max). Data were analyzed by Kolmogorov-Smirnov statistical test and correlation test using Pearson. The implementation is done through data collection, namely simultaneously. The samples tested were 67 people from SMA Negeri 76 Jakarta. This research is objective and also direct measurement in order to determine the prevalence of the data. Results: From the results of the data obtained body mass index and physical fitness (VO2Max) with a value of p = 0.839, it is known that the Correlation Coefficient P>0.05 indicates that H1 is rejected, indicating that there is no significant relationship between body mass index and physical fitness (VO2Max). in adolescents at SMA Negeri 76 Jakarta. Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that H0 is accepted, meaning that there is no relationship between body mass index and physical fitness (VO2Max) in adolescents. |
