| Summary: | Physical activity is an important component of health and growth in children and adolescents. Physical activity is body movement produced by skeletal muscles that requires energy expenditure. Physical activity is classified according to its intensity, namely high, moderate and low activity. Regular physical activity brings benefits and good influence for the health of children and adolescents. Lack of physical activity can cause several health problems in children. The purpose of this study was to determine the description of physical activity in children aged 10-12 years at Muhammadiyah 4 Elementary School, Depok City. This research is a descriptive quantitative research using the IPAQ (International Physical Activity Questionnaire) instrument. Data collection techniques using a questionnaire. The population in this study were 60 students and the samples taken were 52 students. The results of the research conducted showed that the average intensity of physical activity carried out by students of Muhammadiyah 4 Elementary School in Depok City was classified in the heavy category of physical activity with the average male student aged 11 years with a body mass index underweight category. |
