| Summary: | Body mass index is a statistical measurement method that uses weight and height to assess and estimate body fat in men and women of various ages. Walking speed is the duration required for a person to cover a certain distance and generally, this walking speed is expressed in units of m/s or meters per second. Walking speed is also a basic measure of walking that determines a person's basic walking ability. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between body mass index and walking speed in health vocational students in Depok. The design in this study uses a type of correlation research. In addition, this research approach was carried out with a cross-sectional study approach with a sample of respondents from SMK Health students in Depok. The results of this study were the majority of Health Vocational School students in Depok had a normal body mass index and had a slow walking speed. There is a significant relationship between body mass index and walking speed in health vocational students in Depok with a value of p = 0.013, which means p <0.05. In Conclusion, body mass index is related to walking speed in health vocational students in Depok. |
