| Izvleček: | Background: Nowadays, smartphone users in the world significantly increase. For instance in 2018, Indonesia had the fourth highest number of smartphone users around 100 billion after China, India and America. Due to people using their handphones for a long time, it can cause physical problems especially in upper back pain. There are to human being related for ergonomic aspect with musculoskeletal problem such as internal factor (i.e. age, gender, muscle strength, body shape and size and others) and external factor (i.e. disease, nutritional status, work environment, customs and habits). Research Objectives: To determine the relationship between smartphone use and upper back pain in college students. Methods: This study used a correlational quantitative research design with a cross sectional approach. With a sample taken as many as 54 students with a sample error rate of 10%. The results obtained between the use of smartphones and complaints of upper back pain have a sig value of 0.000, where p <0.05, the results show that there is a relationship between the two variables, so H1 is accepted. Conclusion: There is a relationship between smartphone use and upper back pain in public health students of the 2019 UPN Veterans Jakarta class. |
