| Summary: | Chronic kidney failure is the inability of the kidneys to excrete the remains of the body's metabolism and regulate fluid and electrolyte balance. The recommended renal replacement therapy is hemodialysis. Hemodialysis can cause complications such as intradialysis hypertension that can be experienced by patients. Intradialysis hypertension is an increase in systolic blood pressure 10 mmHg or an increase in mean arterial pressure (MAP) 15 mmHg during or after dialysis. In lowering the increased blood pressure, the patient was given the intervention of EBN foot massage therapy 3 times for 10 minutes in every hour of the dialysis session. In providing nursing care, evaluation is carried out after the massage is finished using a sphygmomanometer to measure blood pressure every hour of hemodialysis. The results obtained from the provision of foot massage therapy are 150/90 mmHg in the first hour, 130/90 mmHg in the second hour and 120/90 mmHg in the third hour, lastly in post hemodialysis blood pressure becomes 120/80 mmHg. There is a decrease in blood pressure in patients after foot massage therapy. Foot massage therapy is believed to be able to stimulate adrenal hormones to make vessels dilate and calm the body (relaxation) so that blood pressure decreases. |
