| Summary: | Breastfeeding is one of the most effective ways to protect child health, encourage healthy and optimal growth and development from an early age. Based on data from the Badan Pusat Statistik, only one of two infants aged 0-5 months who have received exclusive breastfeeding, and no more than 6% of children who are still breastfed at the age of 23 months. Ineffective milk ejection is the most common etiology of non-fluent lactation. One of the non-pharmacological therapies to overcome the problem of ineffective breastfeeding is Woolwich massage therapy. Woolwich massage is a massage therapy carried out in the lactiferous sinus area, which is about 1 cm to 1.5 cm outside the areola of the breast with the aim of stimulating ejection of milk in the lactiferous sinus. The purpose of this case study is to determine the effectiveness of providing stimulation in the form of massage in increasing the secretion of the hormone oxytocin which can increase milk ejection. The measuring instrument used for the development of breast milk production and ejection of breast milk for postpartum mothers is Lembar Observasi Kelancaran Pengeluaran ASI. Results: increased milk production and milk ejection that occurred in postpartum mothers after woolwich massage therapy. |
