This study aims to determine and analyze the effect of profitability, liquidity, and asset structure on capital structure. The population in this study consisted of 17 Construction and Building companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in the period 2016-2020. The sample selection technique applied was non-probability sampling with a purposive sampling approach in order to obtain 15 companies that were able to meet the criteria as samples. Data analysis in this study was carried out using a computer program, namely Microsoft Office Excel 2017 and hypothesis testing using panel data regression analysis through the E-views 11.0 program and a significance level of 5%. Then the results of the analysis obtained based on the t test show that partially (1) Profitability (ROE) has a significant negative effect on capital structure, (2) Liquidity (CR) has a significant negative effect on capital structure, (3) Asset structure (FAR) has no effect significant to the capital structure. Thus, the results in this study support the pecking order theory.
