| Summary: | The rise of social media provides many conveniences for its users, one of which is the rapid spread of information. Occasionally users share personal information or disclose themselves to the public and their followers. Self-disclosure is done by answering personal questions on Quora social media. Personal information that should be private has now become public consumption. Researchers want to know how the self-disclosure of Quora social media users was using the concept of Self Disclosure and the Johari Window theory. This research conducted by using a qualitative method with a phenomenological study. Data collection techniques were carried out by interviewing 6 selected informants. The results in this study are self-disclosure made by informants on Quora was found for reasons not to communicate face-to-face, a sense of satisfaction, having the same interests, as well as the feedback obtained. In addition, the informants also still have limitations regarding their personal information and not all of their private personal information is publicly available. The impact after self-disclosure is considered positive because of the feeling of satisfaction and the support provided by other users. |
