| Summary: | As we know that the role of food cannot be separated from human life. Not only for basic need, its role has now expanded rapidly and has been able to influence most of the views of the international community towards an actor, relations, and global peace. By realizing how crucial food is, a practice of cross-border cultural diplomacy emerged by using a tool in the form of food, namely gastrodiplomacy. Indonesia as a country that participates in the practice of Gastrodiplomacy by empowering its proud foods has felt a direct impact on its national development. On various occasions, Indonesia has tried to echo its food to various neighboring countries and other countries with the strategic plans. By looking at this, this paper will focus on how to utilize the strategic roles and opportunities of the presence of Gastrodiplomacy which is being eyed by the government and other stakeholders in Indonesia for realizing acceleration in sector development in Indonesia, especially in the Economy and Tourism sector. The purpose of this study is to understand and explore various government and stakeholder efforts in developing the economic and tourism sector in Indonesia through the roles and opportunities of gastrodiplomacy. In this study, the authors used qualitative research methods and secondary and primary data collection techniques which were carried out through in-depth interviews and observation of library study data. |
