AGE patients whom hospitalized can be treated in two ways, by symptomatic therapy and therapy with antibiotics. The guideline first-line therapy recommends the use of ceftriaxone, azithromycin, vancomycin, ciprofloxacin and doxycycline. Antibiotics need to be given appropriately because it can affect the length of stay. This study aims to compare the length of stay between ceftriaxone and cefotaxime as the most prescribed drugs among adult AGE patients in dr. Soekardjo hospital 2020-2021. Method This study conducted with an observational analytic study using a cross-sectional approach in GEA patients. The samples were collected by consecutive sampling method while the data were analyzed by independent t test. Result 142 patients were included. Ceftriaxone was administered in 100 patients while cefotaxime was in 42 patients. The result shows the length of stay was p=0.889 (p>0.05). Conclusion From this study we can conclude that there was no difference in length of stay between AGE patients whom treated with ceftriaxone and cefotaxime at dr. Soekardjo Hospital Tasikmalaya 2020-2021.
