Based on field observations and interviews, in the production process there are several indications of waste, therefore identification is needed to minimize or even eliminate activities that are not added value. The purpose of this study is to identify the causes of waste caused by non-value added activity using the Lean Manufacturing method and provide recommendations for improvement in reducing non-value added activity, then a more efficient design using system simulation using ProModel software. Lean Manufacturing methods used in this study include Value Stream Mapping (VSM) and Value Stream Analysis Tools (VALSAT). To determine the critical waste by using a questionnaire 7 waste. The results of the three critical wastes obtained are based on the 7 waste questionnaire data processing, namely, defects, unnecessary motion, and waiting. Furthermore, to find the root of the waste problem that occurs in this study using a Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) diagram, then a simulation is carried out to describe the conditions before and after repairs. Based on the results of data processing, it was found that the recommendations for improvement proposals could reduce the lead time by 89.64 minutes or equivalent to 35.49% and the results from the design of the improved simulation model experienced an increase in production output to 2,149,275 pcs with a percentage increase of 93.84%.
