Summary

A healthy capital market movement can boost the national economy. JCI is used as an indicator of capital market developments for investment decision making by investors, where movements can be influenced by macroeconomic factors. This study aims to analyze the effect of the Dow Jones index, world oil market prices, interest rates and the current account balance on the Jakarta composite index in the long and short term using the ECM (Error Correction Model) test. This research was tested using eviews 10 software. During the 2007-2021 observation period, there was a link between macroeconomic variables and the development of the Indonesia Stock Exchange Composite Index. The results of research conducted using the ECM method show that the Dow Jones index and interest rates have a significant effect on the JCI in the short and long term, while the World Oil Price variable has no effect on the JCI both in the short and long term, as well as the Balance Sheet variable. The Current Account in the short term has no effect on the JCI, but in the long term it has a significant effect on the JCI.
