Description
Summary:The economic growth of a country, both in poor, developing and developed countries, not only requires support from within but also requires support from abroad. One of the supports from abroad that can increase a country's economic growth is foreign direct investment. When foreign investors are going to invest in a country, they will consider 3 things, namely costs, impacts and opportunities. This research was conducted to determine the effect of inflation, interest rates and currency exchange rates on foreign direct investment in three countries with different economic conditions, namely Myanmar representing a poor country, Indonesia as a developing country and Singapore as a developed country in 2010-2020. The data in this study used secondary data obtained through Macrotrends, Statista, Statistics Singapore, Macrotrends and CEIC which were obtained from the UPNVJ Economics Lab. This research is included in the panel data regression study with the program used, namely Stata 14 with a significance basis of 0.05 or 5%. The results of this study indicate (1) inflation have a negative significant effect on foreign direct investment (2) interest rates have a negative significant effect on foreign direct investment (3) currency exchange rates have a negative significant effect on foreign direct investment. In addition, from this study inflation, interest rates and exchange rates simultaneously affect foreign direct investment variables.
