| Summary: | Departing from the phenomenon in society which analogizes a wife whether as an asset or burden, this study aims to understand the actual perceptions of husbands in recognizing their wives in household accounting practices. Recognition is important because it forms one's identity, so that a husband's background in accounting and finance should not trap his perspective on his wife because corporations and households are incompatible domains. The method used in this research is qualitative with Heidegger's existential phenomenology approach. The informants in this study consisted of three husbands who had backgrounds in accounting and finance. The results of the study obtained the commonality that all informants recognized their wife as a transcendental asset. Then the analysis of informants one by one, obtained the meaning of the wife in household accounting practices, namely the wife's recognition as a crooked rib, as an investment, and as the anchor of emotional stability and spiritual reflection. The novelty of this study is that the topic of wife recognition in household accounting concepts has never been discussed in previous studies. |
