Leaf springs, which are a type of spring, are a suspension system commonly used on vehicles that have a large load. Leaf springs often experience fractures on leaf number one due to dynamic loads that occur so improvements are needed to overcome this due to operational failures. To get a good improvement, research was conducted using the Finite Element Analysis (FEA) method. This research uses Autodesk Inventor Software and Ansys Work Bench R1 Software. Variations in the research used are loading 8500 kg and 10000 kg. Based on the results of the study, 3 design improvements were obtained with each additional number of leaves in number two with the addition of indentations, dimensions, and thickness in 3rd improvement. The simulation results show that the 2nd improvement receives the smallest maximum stress between 1st improvement and 3rd improvement with a loading of 8500 kg and 10000 kg are 66.537 MPa and 78.279 MPa. The life value and safety factor after being improved increase in proportion to the decrease in the voltage value. The highest life results occurred in 2nd improvement and the result are 4.3 x 105 and 1.7 x 105. And the results of the safety factor analysis in improvement 2 were 5.4 and 4.5. So it can be concluded that 2nd design improvement is the best design result and can overcome the number one leaf fracture due to dynamic loads from operating failures.
