Summary

Eye fatigue has a negative impact on workers such as, lost productivity. It was found that workers at PT PLN Icon Plus had a computer usage duration of more than 4 hours per day and lighting that was not up to standard. The purpose of this study was to determine the risk factors for eye fatigue in computer users at PT PLN Icon Plus. The design of this study was cross-sectional. The population of this study amounted to 80 workers and all were respondents. The research instruments used eye fatigue questionnaires, laser distance meters, lux meters and heat stress meters. The results of the chi-square test analysis showed significant relationship between working time (p-value=0.004), work duration (p-value=0.016) and lighting (p-value=0.051) with eye fatigue. The age, gender and distance of the monitor showed no relationship with eyestrain. It is recommended to companies to add curtains to each window so the light that enters during the day does not exceed the standard. In addition, employees can download a screen time application on the computer to see how long the activity works while using the computer.
