| Summary: | This study aims to understand the role of PT Bahaso Intermedia Cakrawala in developing the international communication skills of tourism sector workers in Indonesia within the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC). To discuss this problem, the researcher used a framework based on theories of international communication, economic regionalism, and digital transformation. The method used in this research is a descriptive qualitative method. The results of this study show that the role of PT Bahaso Intermedia Cakrawala as a non-state actor that has a program to improve the foreign language skills of tourism sector workers in Indonesia in the AEC has been achieved through an intensive 3-month training program that provides learning materials tailored to the abilities of participants by utilizing digital transformation, building confidence in conducting international communication activities with tourists through English language practice, and opening up job opportunities both at Indonesia and abroad, supported by the English language skills taught by PT Bahaso Intermedia Cakrawala. There was a 51% increase in English proficiency as the medium for international communication in 2021 and a 30% increase in 2022. |
