| 520 | |a Along with the development of technology, media emerged that made one country's culture easily enter other countries without having to explore the country directly. Social media also makes it easy for people to learn about the culture of other currently popular countries quickly. This convenience also allows a culture to explore other cultures under it with the strength of that culture. One of the popular cultures currently being talked about worldwide, including Indonesia, is the Korean Wave culture through one of its cultural forms in Music and Dance, namely KPOP. One of the popular KPOP boy groups in Indonesia is NCT. Therefore, this study aims to discover how Korean Wave culture is spread through NCT SHOW broadcasts on Youtube. This study uses a qualitative research method with a phenomenological approach to learn more about a person's experience of a phenomenon. Researchers collected data by conducting in-depth interviews with 5 (five) NCTzens from Gen-Z circles who produced factors driving the spread, motives in interpreting, and 6 (six) themes in the experience of spreading Korean Wave culture on Youtube. Data analysis techniques used in this study include grouping data according to sub-themes, data elimination, thematization, data identification, data re-examination, textural data merging, and reconstructing meaning. This study found that Gen-Z was interested in exploring Korean Wave culture compared to Western culture due to the diversity of cultural forms displayed through the media, which caused the identity of the local culture to be shaken by the faster spread of Korean culture in Indonesia. | ||
