Concern about the side effects of drug use is complained by hypertensive patients in undergoing therapy as an alternative therapy option. As a complementary therapy that is cheaper, easier, and safer. Acupressure can be used as a therapy to treat hypertension in the elderly. The purpose of this scientific work is to provide nursing care to the elderly with hypertension through acupressure therapy. This acupressure therapy is applied to two families with hypertension, namely the main client and the resume client. Acupressure therapy is given 3 times a week and is carried out for 4 weeks in 1 x 30 minutes. The results of applying acupressure therapy for 4 weeks showed that clients who were treated experienced changes in blood pressure in clients who were treated which showed a decrease in systolic blood pressure from an average of 143.33 mmHg to 135.83 mmHg and a decrease in diastolic pressure. . blood pressure from an average of 93.33 to 89.17. In resume patients, there was a decrease in systolic blood pressure from an average of 153.33 mmHg to 144.17 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure from 98.33 mmHg to 94.17 mmHg from 160/110 mmHg to 130/90 mmHg. This shows that acupressure therapy is effective in helping to lower blood pressure. Community nurses are advised to be able to apply acupressure therapy as a companion therapy for hypertension clients.. Keywords: Acupressure, Elderly, Hypertension | ||
