| Summary: | Background: Patients with diabetic ulcers in patients with diabetes mellitus both in Indonesia and the world are increasing every year. Complications of diabetic ulcers are the most common complications that cause amputation and are the complications with the most expensive treatment costs. Treatment of diabetic ulcers with herbal ingredients is very often done, for example using pure honey. Pure honey is often used by the ancestors to cure various diseases since thousands of years ago and one of them is as a healing wound infection such as diabetic ulcers. Methods: A systematic review was conducted by searching for journals from October 2020 to July 202. The search was carried out in databases in the form of Pubmed and Google scholar using PRISMA-P (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-analysis Protocols). Results: The data obtained from three journals, namely three journals suggested that using honey can affect the healing process of diabetic ulcers which is influenced by low water content, low pH, flavonoids, phenolic acids and flavonoids. Conclusion: The use of honey in the healing process of diabetic ulcers is effective in wound healing. Keywords: Diabetic foot, Diabetic foot ulcer, Honey, Wound Healing |
