| 520 | |a This research discusses the analysis of the role of former mayor of South Tangerang, Airin Rachmi Diany, who was rumored to be a kingmaker in the victory of the Benyamin-Pilar candidate during the simultaneous elections in 2020 in South Tangerang City. As a person with significant power and influence in the development of South Tangerang, Airin holds a strategic position to ensure the victory of the candidate who will succeed her in the next term. The research employs a descriptive qualitative research method involving data collection from primary and secondary sources. The sampling technique is conducted through purposive sampling. The researcher employs three stages of data analysis according to Miles & Huberman, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions/data verification.The results of this research reveal the strategic role of Airin as a king maker, achieved by leveraging her power to endorse the Benyamin-Pilar candidate as the leader of South Tangerang and approaching potential supporters to secure their backing for this pair. Through Airin's strategic positions as the mayor and the chairman of the Golkar party in South Tangerang, as well as her familial relationship background within the political dynasty of Ratu Atut, Airin possesses the authority to play the role of a king maker and influence the outcome of the 2020 South Tangerang City elections. | ||
