| Summary: | Poverty is a difficult problem to overcome and has become a challenge for many countries, including Indonesia. Poverty can cause various problems, such as economic hardship, social inequality, and increased mortality rates. Therefore, efforts are needed to reduce poverty and improve people's welfare. This study aims to analyze the effect of GRDP, open unemployment rate and average years of schooling on poverty in East Kalimantan Province. This study uses secondary data from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) for 10 districts/cities in East Kalimantan from 2012-2022. Data analysis was conducted with panel data regression using Eviews 8. The results showed that partially GRDP and the open unemployment rate had no significant effect on poverty. However, the average years of schooling has a significant positive effect on poverty. Simultaneously, the three variables have a significant effect on poverty. These findings suggest that increasing the average years of schooling can be one way to reduce poverty. In addition, efforts are needed to improve the quality of education so that it can be more effective in reducing poverty. |
