| Summary: | The high prevalence of overweight in adolescents is still a nutritional problem in Indonesia. Nutrition education is the right solution to increase knowledge and attitudes about overweight in adolescents. Podcast and leaflet media are currently being developed and known to be the right media to be used in education.This study aims to determine the effect of nutrition education using podcasts and leaflets on increasing knowledge and attitude about overweight in adolescents. The method used in this research is quasi experimental with one group pre-test post-test design. 88 sample of students in 8th grade divided into 2 groups, leaflet group and podcast group. The statistical tests used are simple paired T-test and Independent T-test. The study results showed that there was an effect of nutrition education using podcasts and leaflets on increasing knowledge (p-value = 0,000) and attitudes (p-value = 0,000) about overweight in adolescents at SMPN 11 Jakarta. The mean value of knowledge and attitudes in the leaflet group is higher than the podcast group, therefore the leaflet is more effective in increasing knowledge and attitudes about overweight in adolescents at SMPN 11 Jakarta. |
