EFEKTIVITAS EKSTRAK TEH HIJAU (Camellia sinensis) TERHADAP KADAR MALONDIALDEHIDA (MDA) PLASMA DARAH TIKUS JANTAN GALUR WISTAR (Rattus norvegicus) YANG DIINDUKSI ALOKSAN

Diabetes mellitus triggers an increase in free radicals that will oxidize unsaturated fatty acids in cell membranes through lipid peroxidation resulting in malondialdehyde. Green tea contains antioxidant polyphenols. The study aims to determine the effectiveness of green tea extract (Camellia sinens...

520 |a Diabetes mellitus triggers an increase in free radicals that will oxidize unsaturated fatty acids in cell membranes through lipid peroxidation resulting in malondialdehyde. Green tea contains antioxidant polyphenols. The study aims to determine the effectiveness of green tea extract (Camellia sinensis) against the MDA blood rat level of male strain Wistar (Rattus norvegicus) induced aloksan. Samples of 30 male white mouse-tailed Wistar strains, aged 8-12 weeks, weight 150-200 grams and rats grouped: (K1) Normal group, (K2) group Aloksan, (K3) group Aloksan and green Tea Extract 200 mg/kgBB, (K4) Aloksan Group and green Tea Extract 400 mg/kgBB, (K5) Aloksan Group and green Tea Extract 800 mg/kgBB. After 3 days of administration of Aloxane 125 mg/kgBB then check blood glucose and given the green tea extract treatment for 16 days. The rat was terminated with the intraperitoneal ketamine Xylazin, then surgically and taken blood from the heart and measured the plasma MDA levels using a spectrophotometer with a wavelength of 530 nm. Test One Way Anova, there is the influence of green tea extract to MDA content (P = 0,002). Test post Hoc Bonferroni, administering green Tea Extract 400 mg/kgBB can lower MDA levels (P = 0.037) close to normal values. Green Tea Extract 400 mg/kgBB has the best antioxidant effect to protect free radicals from induction of aloksan.
