Summary:Tourism is defined as a social, cultural and economic phenomenon that requires the movement of people to countries or places outside their normal environment for personal or business. the tourism industry is one of the most dynamic and fastest growing economic sectors in the world. In Indonesia, the tourism sector is included in Nawa Cita Jokowi Dodo and Jusuf Kalla 2014-2019 as a priority development sector. For Indonesia itself tourism is the easiest contributor to GDP, foreign exchange, and employment. Indonesia has a target of visiting foreign tourists every year. Then not achieving the target of Malaysian tourists visiting Indonesia and the low number of foreign tourists visiting the border made the Ministry of Tourism come up with a strategy by utilizing the Indonesia-Malaysia border region. The Ministry of Tourism developed a Crossborder Tourism strategy in which there is an event called the Cross Border Festival which is held every year in the Indonesia-Malaysia border region. This research will discuss Indonesian Diplomacy in increasing Malaysian tourist visits through the Cross Border Festival using the concept of Public Diplomacy and Borders Tourism. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative research method. Diplomacy conducted by Indonesia through the Cross Border Festival be able to contribute to the visit of Malaysian tourists to Indonesia and at the same time be able to increase the number of foreign tourists visiting the Kalimantan border region.
