520 | |a The hull shape model is currently undergoing many modifications. Modifications made are very concerned with the value of the resistance that occurs when the ship undergoes modifications. The total resistance is very concerned because the smaller the total resistance, the smaller the thrust required to move the ship, so as to minimize fuel consumption. Optimization of the hull shape is a method used to obtain the most optimum hull shape so that it has the minimum resistance value and stability according to IMO. The purpose of optimizing the shape of the hull is to get the best hull shape in reducing ship resistance and still paying attention to stability. From the ship data, optimization is carried out to obtain the optimal main size as a case study solution for cargo ships that cannot reach official speed. Assuming that the yield size has the minimum resistance, the models vary with the payload of 400 tonnes and 500 tonnes. The optimization results obtained the optimal size specifications: Lpp = 50.77 m, B = 8.52 m, T = 2.5 m, and H = 3.63 m, with a total resistance value of 60.08 kN with a reduction of 28% of the value the total resistance of the initial ship model, the value of the friction resistance of 19.04 kN with a reduction of resistance of 4.3% of the initial ship friction resistance value, the value of the wave resistance of 33.29 kN with a reduction in wave resistance of 27.6% of the initial ship model | ||
