| Summary: | Noise-InducedaHearing Loss is hearing damage that results from higher exposures on permanent basis. WHO estimates there are 1.1 billion people worldwide who are at risk of hearing loss due to exposure at workplace. At airport there's a high level noise, Ground Handling officer is one of the most frequently exposed. NIHL relate to noise, PPE , working hours , working period, and age. The purpose of the study was to see the relationship between working period and use of PPE on incidence of NIHL. This research uses a quantitative study with a cross sectional approach. The sample of this research is Ground Handling officers who perform Medical Check Up at Aviation HealthaCenter. Number of samples consisted of 52 people. Based on results of the research work period of 16 respondents who worked >5 years 9 of them (59.3%) NIHL, 36 respondents who worked <5 years 9 of them (25%) NIHL. Based on the results of the chi-square test, the p valuewas 0.029 (p <0.05). Basedaon the results of the study based on the use of PPE, 21 respondents who were notacompliant, 11 of them (52.4%) NIHL, 31 respondents who complied 7 (22.6%) were NIHL. Based onathe results of the chi-squareatest, the pavalueawas 0.027 (p <0.05). Thereais a relationshipabetweenayears of work and the use of PPE with the incidence of Noise Induced Hearing Loss at Aviation Health Center with p value = 0.029 and 0.027. |
