¿Tiene sexo la sociología? Consideraciones en torno a La categoría género

The paper deals with three potential points of discussion that allow to arti-culate gender, sex and sociology. The first one concerns the sexual division of sociological work and the masculine or feminine character of the discipli-ne; using as a starting point the historical constitution of a masculine canon and the story of Marianne Weber, a founder sociologist who was excluded from the canon. The second one asks the question of the predicament of the categories "sex" and "gender" within the sociological theories. For hand-ling it some of the theoretical advancements of the French feminist/mate-rialist school are presented, as seen through some of the central categories of sociology. Finally, the sex and the position within the gender system of the "objectifying subject" is related with the conditions of the validity of knowledge, an issue that is seen through the optics of situated knowledge and feminist black thought

El artículo aborda tres posibles problemáticas que permiten articular género, sexo y sociología. La primera se refiere a la división sexual del trabajo socio-lógico y al carácter masculino o femenino de la disciplina, tomando como asunto, para la discusión, la construcción histórica de un canon masculino y el caso de Marianne Weber como socióloga fundadora excluida del mismo. La segunda plantea la pregunta por el estatuto de las categorías "sexo" y "género" en las teorías sociológicas. Para abordarlo presenta algunos desarrollos teóricos adelantados por la escuela feminista materialista francesa a partir de categorías centrales de la sociología. Finalmente, se relaciona el sexo o la posición en el sistema de género del "sujeto objetivante" con las condiciones de validez del conocimiento, tema que se aborda desde la óptica del conocimiento situado y el pensamiento feminista negro.
