Percepción ambiental en estudiantes de secundaria / Environmental perception at middle school students

Se investigó un grupo de 254 estudiantes de una secundaria pública de Matamoros, Tamaulipas, México, adaptando el cuestionario utilizado por el Grup de Recerca Educació i Ciutadani (GREIC) de la Universitat de les Illes Balears. El estudio se basa en un conjunto de 39 preguntas distribuidas en cuatro secciones: Afirmaciones relacionadas con el medio ambiente, para indagar su postura; Preocupación por el medio ambiente, para identificar el lugar que genera mayor interés; Problemas ambientales, sirvió para identificar el conocimiento de la problemática que afecta a su región y la cuarta sección Acciones para hacer un mundo mejor, para identificar la disposición de los estudiantes para mejorar el ambiente. La validación del cuestionario adaptado refiere un coeficiente del Alfa de Cronbach de 0.862 y los datos en estudio representan de forma generalizada la percepción ambiental que tienen los estudiantes y manifiestan la importancia de la educación ambiental. 254 public middle school students from H. Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico, were involved at this research, using an adaptation of the questionnaire developed for the Grup de Recerca Educació I Ciutadani (GREIC) from the Universitat de les Illes Balears. The study included 39 questions, divided at four sections: Statements about environment topics to investigate their posture about it; the Environmental worries section to know the location that generates most interest for them; the Environmental problems section enabled us to identify their knowledge about the problematic of their region, and finally the fourth section: Actions to make a better world to identify the disposition of the students to improve the environment. About the validation of the adapted questionnaire, it shows an Alpha´s Cronbach of 0.862, and it comprehends the student's environmental perception and makes evident the relevance of the environmental education.
