Hypoplasia of inferior vena cava

Hypoplasia of vena cava is a rare congenital malformation that could have been caused by embryological or acquired factors. It causes venous stasis, which makes venous thrombosis and collateral circulation more likely. We present a case of hypoplasic vena cava, with typical imaging characteristics.
