Summary:In the prevalence of anxiety disorders in adolescents in Indonesia there are 37 thousand inhabitants have anxiety. Anxiety disorders is a psychiatric disorder that is most common and can be happen to everyone both children, adolescents, and adults. It can happen due to some condition such as school problems, exams, family relationship or social relationship. The type of research use analytic observational study design with cross sectional approach. The numbers of samples in this study is 82 which consisted of 41 students of SMP Nawa Kartika Islamic Boarding School and 41 students of SMP Negeri 1 Wonogiri. The research instrument used in this study are inform consent sheet, personal data, L-MMPI (Lie Minnesota Multhiphasic Personality Inventory) questionnaires, and TMAS (Taylor Manifest Anxiety Scale) questionnaires. The data have been obtained was analyzed using unpaired t test through SPSS version 17 for windows. Based on the analysis of data has been obtained using unpaired t test were got p = 0,004. Because the value of p < 0,05 it can be concluded that there a significant difference anxiety level between grades VIII student of SMP Nawa Kartika Islamic Boarding School with SMP Negeri 1 Wonogiri.
