Abstracts Discourse is linguistic element that is relatively the most complex and the most complete. Linguistic support unit includes a phoneme, morpheme, word, phrase, clause, sentence, paragraf, unit the whole bouquet. Discourse is also essentially a pragmatic language elements. Purpose of this study describe the form and meaning of cohesion and coherence of the causal relationship means the results of the discourse of the newspaper Java Post edition of March 2016 as junior level teaching materials. Researchers used a qualitative research. Each science essentially has its own paradigm, ie a set of beliefs, values, a view which relates to science. This descriptive type ofresearch in which qualitative research to collect.Data instead of using numbers as a primary method. The data collected in the form of teks, words, syimbols and images. The results of this study group the data into two categories: lexical, cohesion and coherence. Lexical cohesion component is repatition or repetition, synonyms, and hyponymy. Coherence components causal relationship, and the relationship means- results. Based on a study of news discourse in Java Post newspaper. A lot of data found in the components of coherence. Meaning contained in the Java Post newspaper discourse can be understood by the reeder.
