Mata kuliah praktik pemesinan merupakan mata kuliah wajib yang harus dipenuhi oleh mahasiswa D3 Teknik Mesin. Sebagai upaya meningkatkan kompetensi mahasiswa maka perlu dilakukan inovasi dalam pembelajaran. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui gambaran penerapan pembelajaran berbasis produksi mandiri yang diterapkan pada mahasiswa D3 Teknik Mesin. Penerapannya ditinjau dari 4 aspek yaitu: perencanaan, pelaksanaan, hasil kerja dan waktu kerja. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode One-Shot Case Study. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 15 mahasiswa D3 angkatan 2014. Data diperoleh melalui observasi langsung terhadap pelaksanaan praktek pemesinan dan hasil praktek. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa penerapan praktek pemesinan mandiri, menghasilkan lebih dari setengah mahasiswa D3 teknik mesin UPI angkatan 2014 mampu melaksanakan praktek pemesinan bubut dengan hasil baik.;-- Machining practices should be compulsory subject to fulfilled of diploma study of Mechanical Engineering. Accordingly, one of the method to improved comprehension of the competence with innovation of learning. There are four aspects to complied the objectives: planning, implementation, result and time of the task. Used method One-Shot Case Study, the data obtained by directly examined implementation and the result of machining practices fifteen college students of diploma Mechanical Engineering 2014. And the result showed with this method almost (more than half) are successfully capable finished the tasks.
