Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mendeskripsikan hasil belajar mahasiswa sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan metode Inkuiri: (2) menguji tingkat efektivitas metode Inkuiri dalam pembelajaran membaca pemahaman bahasa Perancis; dan (3) memperoleh informasi mengenai tanggapan mahasiswa tentang penggunaan metode Inkuiri dalam pembelajaran membaca pemahaman teks naratif bahasa Perancis. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu Quasi Experiment dengan desain one-group pretest-posttest. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu studi pustaka, tes dan angket. Yang menjadi sampel dalam penelitian ini yaitu 30 orang mahasiswa semester 3 Departemen Pendidikan bahasa Perancis FPBS UPI Tahun Akademik 2017/2018. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan statistik diperoleh nilai t-hitung sebesar 6,60 dan nilai t-tabel sebesar 2,462 dengan derajat kebebasan (d.b) sebesar 29 dan taraf signifikansi sebesar 0,01, sehingga t-hitung > t-tabel, yang artinya hipotesis kerja dalam penelitian ini diterima. Maka, penggunaan metode Inkuiri dianggap efektif dalam pembelajaran membaca pemahaman teks naratif bahasa Perancis. Selanjutnya, berdasarkan analisis data diperoleh nilai rata-rata prates mahasiswa sebesar 65,6 dan nilai rata-rata pascates sebesar 82,4. Hal ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan nilai sebesar 16,9, sehingga kemampuan membaca pemahaman teks naratif bahasa Perancis mahasiswa mengalami peningkatan setelah penggunaan metode Inkuiri. Ada pun tanggapan mahasiswa tentang penggunaan metode Inkuiri ini dapat dilihat dari hasil analisis angket yaitu sebanyak 93,3% orang mahasiswa berpendapat lebih mudah dalam memahami teks bahasa Perancis setelah menggunakan metode Inkuiri dan 6,7% lainnya tidak beranggapan demikian, sehingga metode Inkuiri ini diharapkan dapat membantu meningkatkan proses pembelajaran bahasa Perancis, khususnya pada keterampilan membaca pemahaman.---------- This study aims to (1) describe student learning outcomes before and after using Inquiry method: (2) test the effectiveness level of Inquiry method in reading comprehension learning in French; and (3) obtain information about student responses about the use of Inquiry method in reading learning comprehension of French narrative text. The research method used is Quasi Experiment with one-group pretest-posttest design. Data collection techniques used are literature studies, tests and questionnaires. The sample in this research is 30 students of 3rd semester of French language education department FPBS UPI Academic Year 2017/2018. Based on the results of statistical calculations obtained t-count value of 6.60 and t-table value of 2.462 with degrees of freedom (d.b) of 29 and the level of significance of 0.01, so t-count> t-table, which means working hypothesis in this research is accepted. Thus, the use of Inquiry method is considered effective in reading comprehension of French narrative text. Furthermore, based on the data analysis obtained the average value of student prates of 65.6 and the average value of post-test of 82.4. This shows an increase in value of 16.9, so the ability to read the understanding of the French language narrative text of students has increased after the use of Inquiry method. There are also student responses about the use of Inquiry method can be seen from the result of questionnaire analysis that is as much 93.3% of students find it easier to understand the French text after using the method Inquiry and 6.7% others do not think so, so the method of Inquiry is expected can help improve the process of learning French, especially on reading comprehension skills.
