| Summary: | The emergence of MERS infection in 2012 resulted in an increased concern of the spread of the infection globally. Some countries which have the highest cases of MERS, are Saudi Arabia and South Korea. Although MERS hasn't yet found in Indonesia, we must concern that it can causes death due to progressive respiratory system disorders. The mayority of Indonesian are muslim, so that there's increasing number of hajj pilgrims every year. Thus, the Indonesian hajj pilgrims have greater risk of infection MERS and have role to control outbreaks of MERS in Indonesia. This study was conducted to determine the correlation between knowledge and attitude towards preventive behavior of MERS on hajj pilgrims at Sabilul Hidayah Bogor. This study is a comparative analytical study, which is not paired, and using cross sectional method. These samples include 102 pilgrims, who departure in 2015, were taken by total sampling method. The result of bivariate analysis with Chi-square Shows that there is correlation between knowledge towards preventive behavior of MERS (p = 0.003), and attitude towards preventive behavior of MERS (p = 0.009). Therefore, there is correlation between knowledge and attitude towards preventive behavior of MERS on hajj pilgrims Sabilul Hidayah Bogor in 2015. |
