| Summary: | Menstruation is sign of reproduction phase in women's life which is begin by menarche until menopause. Many factors can influence the disturbances of the menstrual cycle; one of them is nutritional status. This study aimed to determine the association between of the nutritional status with menstrual cycle of the first grade medical students of UPN "Veteran" Jakarta. This survey study was an analytic observational which is use approach of a cross sectional design with consecutive sampling method. The population of this study was all of the first grade medical students of UPN "Veteran" Jakarta. The samples amount are 86. Data was collected by interview using structured questionnaire and weight and height scale. Data were analyzed with Chi Square test with the significance (p <0.05). The result of this study showed the association between nutritional status with menstrual cycle obtained p = 0.000. Oligomenorrhea was the highest type of menstrual cycle disturbance in overweight women (54.5%) and obesity women (57.9%). The nutritional status was associated on menstrual cycle disturbances. We can concluded there is association between the nutritional status with menstrual cycle in medical students first grade of faculty of medicine of the national development "Veteran" university Jakarta. |
