| Summary: | Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is a common health disorder characterized by pain, tingling, burning or numbness in the hands. Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is common in workers who use their hands a lot in their work. One of the jobs that is at risk of experiencing CTS is sewing. This study aims to determine the factors associated with carpal tunnel syndrome complaints in informal tailors at Pasar Rebo in 2022. The study design used in this study was cross-sectional with the sample size of 50 people. The variables were carpal tunnel syndrome, age, gender, years of service, work duration, work posture, and stress levels. Data analysis was performed with the chi-square test. The results showed that 72% of tailors experienced CTS complaints. Factors of age (p=0.011) and years of service (p=0.005) are associated with complaints of CTS in tailors. Meanwhile, gender (p=1.00), work duration (p=0.149), work posture (p=0.623), and stress level (p=0.105) were not related to CTS complaints. The conclusion is that age and years of service are related to complaints. It is recommended for informal sector tailors to stretch or do physical exercises on the wrists and arrange rest periods as best as possible to prevent CTS from occurring. |
