520 | |a Propeller is the main propulsion component on the ship. Analysis of the characteristics of ship propellers is currently developing quite rapidly so that there are many ways to increase the propulsion and efficiency of ship propellers. There is another way which is an additional energy device on the Boss cap Propeller which is the Propeller Boss Cap Fins. PBCF can also function as a device to reduce frictional resistance at the stern of the ship because of the Energy Saving that PBCF has. This research was conducted to analyze 7 types of propeller blades, namely B-series and AU outline. With a variation of the rake angle PBCF which are 0⁰, 12⁰. and 26⁰. The method used is the CFD simulation method in Ansys 2022 software. The model was created using Hydrocomp and Solidwork software. The simulation results show that the addition of Propeller Boss Cap Fins can improve the performance of Propeller which are the highest Increasement Thrust of Propeller with PBCF is 0,94% and the lowest decresement Torque of Propeller with PBCF is -1,7% and the Increasement of Efficiency Propeller with PBCF is 1,433%. | ||
