Summary

This research intens to know the meaning of "Tutur Batin" lyrics and its connection to body shaming phenomenon in Indonesia. This study uses the Teun a. Van Dijk model of Critical Discourse Analysis who will explain the analysis of text dimensions, social cognition, and social context in the song to find the meaning of the song lyrics and the relation of the song lyrics to the body shaming phenomenon that occurs in Indonesia. The results of the research show that this song has the meaning of accepting oneself as one is and believing in oneself based on Yura's life experience which has reached the acceptance phase. As for its relation to the body shaming phenomenon, this song is a medium for Yura to call out to the public, especially to women who have experienced body shaming behavior to accept themselves as they are, remain confident, and still have the confidence to move forward without having to conform to society's standards of beauty.
