This study aimed to examine the legal regulations in Indonesia that regulate the trade in imported used clothing and the legal consequences for imported used clothing businesses after the enactment of Minister of Trade Regulation Number 40 of 2022. This study was conducted using a normative juridical research method with an approach The results of interviews with imported used clothing traders in the city of Jakarta complement the legislation. The results of this study show that trade in imported used clothing is prohibited as referred to in the Minister of Trade Regulation Number 40 of 2022 concerning Amendments to the Minister of Trade Regulation Number 18 of 2021 concerning Export Prohibited Goods and Import Prohibited Goods and other regulations. As for the enactment of this regulation, legal consequences are experienced by those in the imported second-hand clothing business, namely in the form of a decrease in the supply of goods and even a decrease in income, where the fate of these traders is very dependent on this job opportunity.
