| 520 | |a Adjustment to the death of a spouse is one of the tasks of the development of the elderly. Adjustment to the death of a partner is very difficult in elderly men and women. The situation is a problem for the elderly that can cause stress and anxiety, thus affecting the adjustment of the elderly. This study aims to determine the relationship of stress and anxiety levels with self-adjustment in the elderly who are left by a spouse in Grogol Village. The method used is descriptive analytic method with purposive sampling technique of 32 elderly. Univariate analysis uses proportion test and bivariate analysis uses chi square test. The results of this study indicate that there is a relationship between stress level and adjustment in the elderly who are left by a spouse with a p value of 0.041 ≤ 0.05, and there is a relationship of anxiety with adjustment in the elderly who are left by a spouse with a p value of 0.018 ≤ 0.05. This research is expected to provide information for the elderly to be able to control the stress and anxiety felt after being left behind by a spouse by telling family members about feelings and being able to have high self-confidence in the environment. | ||
