Eliezer Masliah

Eliezer Masliah in 2016 Eliezer Masliah (born ) is a neuroscientist and medical researcher whose work concentrates on the biology of aging and Alzheimer's disease in particular. He received his medical degree in 1982 from the National Autonomous University of Mexico. He was appointed head of the U.S. National Institute on Aging's Division of Neuroscience in 2016. He was previously a professor of neuroscience at the University of California, San Diego.

His work specialized in the mechanisms of Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases, particularly around the alpha-synuclein protein.

He has a prolific body of work—much of which is now under scrutiny for containing manipulated images to support different conclusions than the real data—including 800 research papers, and has been widely regarded as one of the world's leading neuroscientists. This body of work is now suspected of image and data irregularities.
